Herbal holyash(thiruneer) is given in this temple.18 herbs are used for preparing this holyash.For preparing this holy ash it takes nearly 7 months.herbs are particularly collected only during full moon day(pournami),no moon day(ammavaasai).This holy ash(thiruneer) is distributed on pournami,ammavaasai,sashti,tuesday,kiruthigai.It is given only in small quantity.No courier service for this holyash(thiruneer).Since this holyash is made up of so many herbs it is good for nerves.

Karungaalimala is special about this temple.It is believed that when we pray and offer karungaalimala to god our wishes will come true.Also Karungaali vel and sandal wood vel kept in the feet of Lord  muruga and given to the devotees.
